SHEA Accreditation
SHEA is the Energy & Utility Skills standard for operatives working on UK gas, power and water networks. Each sector has its own variant — SHEA-Gas, SHEA-Power, SHEA-Water.
Variants
SHEA-Gas is required for any operative on a gas distribution site. SHEA-Power for electricity transmission and distribution. SHEA-Water for water and wastewater work. The structure of each is broadly similar — the content is sector-specific.
Who needs it
Any operative working on a regulated energy or water site. Delivery partners and contractors will not let unaccredited operatives on site.
How to get it
SHEA is delivered by EU Skills-approved training providers. Typically one day classroom plus assessment. Renewal every 3 years.
